Middle School Principal SP/ ENG

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

School Culture & Vision

  • Inspire students, families and staff to achieve mission of ACE by creating a joyful, structured and vibrant school culture;
  • Lead the staff in creating a school community where people feel known, important, and accountable for their role in helping ACE meet the mission
  • Consistently sets the vision for excellence, and provides opportunities for all stakeholders to reach that standard
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of the ACE Cascade and strategies, and ensure staff are constantly working towards ACE targets
  • Create a school-wide technology plan that effectively implements significant technology resources to differentiate instruction and support academic enrichment for all students;
  • Manage faculty and staff effectively;

Instructional Leadership

  • Build a culture of instructional excellence and constant improvement characterized by standards-based, data-driven instruction, collaboration, and a relentless focus on increasing student learning
  • Train the Academic Dean and Lead Teachers as instructional leaders to become exemplary coaches of teachers
  •  Hold teachers accountable for meeting high standards for student academic and behavioral performance;
  • Use data (internal benchmarks, state mandated testing, college matriculation) to analyze program effectiveness and identify areas needing improvement
  • Align resources so that curriculum development activities that provide opportunities for increased staff expertise and accelerated student learning.  Ensure resources are leveraged so that  Instructional Leadership Team can develop high-quality professional development
  • Participate in the formal teacher evaluation process.
  • Ensure all teachers have a Professional Growth Plan that is regularly updated and used as a tool for professional development.
  • Support teaching staff with suggestions and strategies to improve curriculum, instruction, assessment, and classroom management

Advisory and After School Programming

  • Through collaboration with CMO and school staff, ensures that advisory and after school programming receive the resources to be successful, and are aligned with mission and vision.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • A deep commitment to the ACE mission, passion for our students and families.
  • 1+ years’ experience in a secondary school leadership role; preferably as a Principal or school administrator
  • Bachelor's degree is required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish; conversational
  • Classroom teaching experience in the secondary grades (6-12), with proven track record of using data to exponentially increase student learning
  • An eagerness to set ambitious, challenging, and tangible goals, and a relentless drive to achieve

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Salary: Starting at $100,000 and up to $130,000 DOE
  • Benefits: Competitive package including healthcare, vision, dental and CalSTRS
  • Professional development: ACE will reimburse up to $2,000 for mission-aligned tuition costs annually (BTSA, etc.).
  • Full-time; Non-Exempt
